Overview:
The Town of Wilson engaged Digital Marketing Solutions Online (DMSO) to establish a professional web presence and move official communications off personal mailboxes. The project delivered a mobile‑first municipal website and a secure, domain‑based email system using Zoho Mail configured for government communications and retention.
Objectives:

Launch an official, search‑discoverable town website to eliminate manual posting of flyers as notifications to citizens

We started with a site audit and strategy workshop to identify what pages the board felt needed to be added to present information in an easy to find way:

Built a clean, modern design system with consistent spacing, typography, and color usage

Implemented visuals from the township that showcase the town's beauty

Simplified forms (short, mobile‑friendly) and added high‑visibility CTAs across pages

Tuned on‑page SEO and performance focusing on search terms (image budgets, lazy‑loading, compressed assets)
What We Delivered:
We built a new municipal site on Wix with SSL and fast, mobile‑first pages. Navigation is organized around resident tasks (Pay a Bill, Meetings, Ordinances, Forms, Contacts) rather than internal departments. A Document Center houses agendas and minutes with year filters and PDF previews;
Ordinances & Policies are titled for search; and a Notices/Alerts banner surfaces urgent information. The Meetings & Events calendar links directly to agenda/minute PDFs. Contact cards and role‑based forms route to the correct inboxes. We ran an ADA‑informed accessibility pass (contrast, focus states, heading hierarchy, alt text) and added lightweight analytics to monitor top‑content trends.
On communications, we deployed Zoho Mail for the town’s domain with role‑based mailboxes (e.g., clerk@, treasurer@, supervisor@) and shared mailboxes for board communications. Email was set to improve deliverability and reduce spoofing. We configured retention/archive policies, two‑factor authentication, and device access controls, then provided a short SOP for password resets, alias creation.
